Training Workshop Held for International Masters in Applied Vaccinology (MIVA)

AMP and the universities of Félix Houphouët-Boigny (Côte d’Ivoire), Abomey-Calavi (Benin), Lomé (Togo), Paris Dauphine (France), and Polytechnique de Bobo-Dioulasso (Burkina Faso) organized a training workshop to finalize the organizational and educational aspects of the International Masters in Applied Vaccinology (MIVA).

Held from October 23 to 24 at the Regional Institute of Public Health (IRSP) in Ouidah, Benin, the goals of the workshop were to:

  • Assess the creation of MIVA in the partner universities
  • Review the registration process
  • Establish the teaching sequencing for the course
  • Finalize the curriculum for face-to-face sessions
  • Finalize the organizational aspects of the course

To date, two of the four universities have signed decrees to introduce the degree, while the universities of Félix Houphouët-Boigny and Lomé are on track to have the course formalized by the university heads of the respective countries before January 2014. In addition, authorization has been renewed to award the Master 241 for five years.
