EpiVacPlus is a program of the Agence de Médecine Préventive (AMP), a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting public health worldwide, working in about 60 low- and middle-income countries.
EpiVacPlus aims to improve the performance of immunization programs through (i) the strengthening of medical professionals' technical and managerial skills and (ii) the improvement of their professional practices.
EpiVacPlus brings together training, intervention, and support activities in field epidemiology and applied vaccinology. It is primarily intended for district medical officers in French-speaking, sub-Saharan African countries.
The program also includes the coordination of an African immunization network: EpiVac.net. It is currently composed of 11 country networks.
EpiVacPlus, a Program That Has Evolved
EpiVacPlus is the development of EPIVAC®, created in 2002, which was a one-year on-the-job training degree course in applied vaccinology and management of immunization systems.
